PA OSCE SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR ENGAGING PARLIAMENTARIANS IN KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT

To make the process of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement more efficient it is necessary to engage parliamentarians of the conflicting parties in it, as reported by Arminfo agency, Special Representative of the PA OSCE President Goran Lennmarker, who paid a familiarization visit to Nagorno Karabakh the other day, told journalists. “My work experience in different conflict zones, for instance, on the Balkans, showed that parliaments have great potential for the resolving of conflicts and can play a significant role it in”, the Swedish parliamentarian said. He expressed hope that the meetings with the NKR leadership, parliamentarians and representatives of the non-governmental organizations as well as with the refugees in the town of Shushi will let him to have a clear idea of the Karabakh conflict. Mr. Lennmarker noted that due to the outcomes of the visit he intends to make a report, which will be submitted to the PA OSCE.
