Yesterday Armenian President Robert Kocharian, who is in Rome on a formal call, met with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. In the course of the conversation the parties discussed issues of expansion and activation of commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries. Political, regional and international issues were also discussed at the meeting. The high level of bilateral diplomatic relations was also noted. The parties also concerned the question of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations. It should be noted that the same day R. Kocharian visited Vatican, where he met with Pope John Paul II.
