ARMENIAN DEFENSE MINISTER CONSIDERS COLLISION WITH ROCK MOST PROBABLE CAUSE OF RUSSIAN MIG-29 CATASTROPHE

The most probable cause of the catastrophe of MiG-29 Russian pursuit plane, that occurred near Gumri Armenian city yesterday, is collision with a rock due to bad weather conditions, Armenian defense minister Serge Sargsian stated at a government briefing today. In his words, the wreckage of the plane and the body of pilot Constantine Kardash were found at the height of approximately 2500 meters. “If the plane had not run into the rock, I think the pilot would have managed to catapult, – the minister said. – Unfortunately, the catapult functioned only at the crash, throwing the already dead pilot 30-40 meters away from the plane.”
