ARMENIAN SOLDIERS ARRIVAL IN BAKU NOT TO BE VIEWED AS RECONCILIATION BETWEEN TWO COUNTRIES, VILAYAT GULIYEV STATED

Azerbaijani foreign minister Vilayat Guliyev hopes for tolerant attitude of the Azeri people to the Armenian soldiers’ arrival in Baku for the participation in the NATO conference. “Being a member-state of a number of international organizations, Azerbaijan has to become the receiving party of various measures, in which the representatives of the Armenian side take part independently of our desire”, – he told the journalists. At the same time Guliyev expressed the opinion that the Azeri society should approach such cases with understanding, as it was not Baku to have issued the invitation. In the diplomat’s words, facts of such character should not be regarded as the reconciliation of bilateral relations between Baku and Yerevan, Interfax agency reports. Let us note that the conference on planning “Cooperative Best Effort-2004” NATO military exercise with the participation of the Armenian side is to be held January 2004. It should be also reminded that the Azeri Organization for Karabakh Liberation threatened “to undertake radical measures against Armenia’s representatives.
